The Arc plans for polar plunge in January

Published 9:49 am Monday, December 15, 2014

Join our 2015 Special Olympics Polar Plunge Team on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Lake Kohlmeier in Owatonna. We are looking for some of The Arc’s supporters to brave the cold and jump in the frigid waters of Lake Kohlmeier in Owatonna. Half of all money raised online will be donated back to our team which will directly lower costs for our athletes. Must be part of our team in order to qualify for this opportunity. If you’d like to join or even donate to our team, please visit: www.plungemn.org/team/ 10msomowercounty. We’d love to have you. For more information on how to attend the plunge, please visit: www.plungemn.org/events/owatonna.

This is not an Arc staffed event. The Arc will not be providing transportation. Please do not drop off participants unsupervised.

20th Annual Arc Rose Sale

Feb. 9-March 13, 2015, Pick-Up and Delivery Day: Tuesday, March 31, 2015 (Tuesday before Easter)

Let someone know that you care and support the work of The Arc Mower County by supporting our 20th Annual Rose Sale. All proceeds from The Arc’s Rose Sale benefit children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. One in 10 families has a member with a disability. Your participation in Arc’s Rose Sale provides critical funding for programs and services.

We need your help. Any level of support is appreciated. Here are a few suggestions:

• At your work — coordinate a pre-sale rose sale. You can pre-sell roses by emailing your coworkers and encouraging them to order. Call The Arc with a group rose order and the roses can be delivered to your office!

• In your neighborhood — ask your neighbors, friends and family to order roses.

• Brighten someone’s day – order roses to give to your customers or employees to show how much you appreciate them.

• Volunteer — Rose Sale coordinators are needed throughout Austin and the surrounding communities to coordinate rose sales at local churches, businesses, etc.

• In school — school groups can sell individual roses to support their peers that attend activities.

How to order:

• Use the order form located at www.thearcmc.org or at The Arc office

• Online at www.thearcmc.org beginning Feb. 9, 2015.
