A fond farewell to arts supporter
Published 5:46 pm Saturday, January 31, 2015
As one can imagine, the Austin Area Commission for the Arts has been ever-evolving as we continue to grow our programming.
The metamorphosis has evoked both joy and bittersweet nostalgia, depending on the day. It is with a heavy heart that we bid our steadfast Event Coordinator Jen Wiebrand good-bye, as she has decided to resign from her position to explore other opportunities.
Her primary focus was at the Historic Paramount Theatre, making sure each event ran smoothly. It is a critical position to the overall operations of the AACA, and one that we hope to fill quickly.
Therefore, we are now looking for a part-time events coordinator, with the hope to have someone in place by March 1. Please feel free to email jennie@austinareaarts.org or call 507-434-0934 if you have questions about the position.
The full job description can be found on our website at austinareaarts.org.
With our staff down in numbers, we need volunteer support now more than ever. Volunteers can help with all of our programs: ushering, greeting, and cleaning at the Paramount; working retail, cleaning, and helping with events at the Center; and a whole host of jobs at the Austin Artworks Festival. If you are interested in helping out, please register on our website or send an email.
The time commitment can be as short as once a year or working a regular weekly shift.
With the hustle and bustle of the holidays behind us, change is also coming to the ArtWorks Center. We will also be transitioning to our Winter Hours schedule. Starting this week, we will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Purchasing tickets for Paramount events and registering for ArtWorks Center classes can be made online anytime.
