Donald Nicklas Loew, 80, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2015, at his home in Hayfield surrounded by his family.

Don was born on Feb. 13, 1934, the son of Jacob and Angela (Ocken) Loew near Lidderdale, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Kathleen M. Faber on Sept. 15, 1962, in Bancroft, Iowa. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 in South Korea. Don was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed old-time music, woodworking and fishing.

Don is survived by his wife, Kathleen Loew, Hayfield, Minnesota; children: Judy Branstad, Owatonna, Minnesota, Patrick (Nancy) Loew, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Jackie Adelman, Apple Valley, Minnesota, Angela (Kevin) Reichart Edina, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters: Shirley Van Pelt, and Patti Hesch, both of Austin, Minnesota; and Louanna (Alvin) Klocke, Faribault, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nancy Loew; two brothers: Vernon and Norman, and one sister, Darlene Klocke.

The funeral Mass for Donald will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Second Street NE, in Hayfield with the Rev. Steven Peterson celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Post No. 330. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second Street NW, in Hayfield, Minnesota. Blessed be his memory.
