Kenneth Vaughan, 84, passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at his home, in Austin, Minnesota.
Kenny was born on Aug. 27, 1930, in Austin to Joe and Leone Vaughan. Kenny grew up in Austin and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1948.
Kenny married Lavonne (Renslow) in 1958 in Austin, Minnesota. They were happily married for 56 years. During his life he worked as a steamfitter, chemical dependency counselor, truck driver and security guard. He finished his work career volunteering for the Red Cross here and around the United States. Kenny’s trademark greeting of “Hello, Hello, Hello” greeted all. Kenny loved playing Bridge with “the girls,” beef jerky and fried macaroni. He played countless hours of solitaire, did leather-working and models of matchsticks. Kenny loved projects, both big and small. He loved annoying his wife, pestering his kids and teasing everyone.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Leone Vaughan; brothers: Don and Dale Vaughan; sister, Eileen Walport.
Kenny is survived by his wife, LaVonne; his son, Tom Vaughan of Austin; son, Brian (Lois) Vaughan and their daughters, Taylor and Rachel of Savage, Minnesota; son, Dave (Terri) Vaughan and their son, Colin of Austin Minnesota, and their son, Lucas (Meggan) Leifermann and their daughter Sydnee, of New Castle, Colorado; and daughter, Patti (Ross) Rugg of Chaska, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peters Church in Rose Creek, Minnesota, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. The family will be greeting friends and relatives an hour before.
