ALBERT LEA — A high-risk predatory offender who moved away from Albert Lea last summer will move back to the city in February, according to police.
Paul Arthur Berg, 63, has lived in northeast Austin since July, but is scheduled to return to the area of Capri Avenue and Gene Street on Feb. 1. This is the same area where Berg previously lived in Albert Lea.
Berg, a Level 3 offender, is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.
According to police, Berg has a history of sexual contact with girls ages 4 to 5, including fondling. He also has a history of sexual conduct with girls ages 9 to 15, including soliciting victims for sex and indecent exposure in public.
He knew the victims ages 4 to 5 but did not know the victims ages 9 to 15.
Berg is classified as a Level 3 offender because he has the highest likelihood of reoffending.
With the addition of Berg back into the community, there are six Level 3 offenders in Freeborn County.
Five are in Albert Lea: Tai Lars Stadheim, Jabar Pedro Morarend, Joseph Harry Jensen and Lorenzo Torres. Cody Padraic Trott, who had been living in the city, has returned to prison, according to Frank Kohl, a detective with the Albert Lea Police Department.
Brooks Daniel Fisher is in Gordonsville.
