Vikings stadium will showcase Minnesota art

MINNEAPOLIS — The works of Minnesota artists will be on display at the new Vikings stadium.

The team plans to buy as many as 100 pieces of art, with Minnesota-made works as the focus.

Tanya Dreesen is heading the art-buying project for the Vikings. Dreesen tells Minnesota Public Radio News the stadium concourses will be decorated with wall graphics, photography and commissioned pieces of art. The team’s controlling owners, the Wilfs, are funding the art initiative.

Beginning Feb. 1, artists may email examples of their work and a short biography to art@newminnesotastadium.com. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
