Austin girls basketball team sweeps Owatonna

The Austin girls basketball team swept the season series against Owatonna with a 61-47 win over the Huskies (11-13 overall, 9-11 Big Nine) on the road Friday night.
Alex Hansen poured in a career-high 17 points for the Packers (12-12 overall, 12-8 Big Nine) as she hit three 3-pointers in the first half.
Austin led 29-27 right before the half when Rebcca Younis was fouled on a half-courter and she connected on all three free throws.
“It was a great team win and we had contributions from nine kids,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “We’re building some momentum towards the playoffs and this is a solid Owatonna team. We couldn’t be more proud of the girls and the effort hey put forth.”
Ruth Koang had 12 points and 15 rebounds.
