Bernice Hallman, 92, of Austin died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at The Cedars of Austin.
Bernice Evelyn Anderson was born Nov. 27, 1922, at Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Olaf and Ragnhild (Snortheim) Anderson. She graduated from Austin High School and married Frederick A. Coleman on Dec. 28, 1942, at Albert Lea, Minnesota. Bernice was a homemaker and worked at Chuck Hall Dry Cleaners in Austin.
Bernice was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She and Frederick loved taking motorcycle trips and swimming in the family pool. She enjoyed music, especially big band and classical music. Bernice loved taking care of her grandchildren, spending time with them and attending all of their sporting events. On Oct. 21, 2006, Bernice married Robert Hallman at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Frederick Coleman in 1994; her son Robert; her husband Robert Hallman; brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Sandra Coleman, Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Nancy Coleman, Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Patty and Robert Rayman, Elkton, Minnesota, son, Fred Coleman, Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sue Hall Bastyr, Austin, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Olmsted officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Friends may greet the family at the church for one hour before the service on Monday. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
