Lawrence “Larry” Schwartz, 86, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at the Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

Larry was born on Oct. 16, 1928, in Austin, Minnesota, to Charles and Elizabeth (Fink) Schwartz. He graduated from Austin High School. Larry married Joyce Sayles on June 19, 1948, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. He worked for the Geo. A. Hormel Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. Larry was a devoted and loving father and husband and he will be forever missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce; two brothers and three sisters.

Larry is survived by his daughter JoAnn Enright, Austin, Minnesota; sons: James (Judy) Schwartz, Alden, Minnesota, David (Denise) Schwartz, Newport, Minnesota, John (Jennie) Schwartz, Willmar, Minnesota; grandchildren: Jeff (Christa) Daily, Austin, Minnesota, Brian (Tressa) Daily, Shakopee, Minnesota, Jennifer (Bill) Tilford, Pine Island, Minnesota, Mark (Nicole) Schwartz, Austin, Minnesota, Kristine Schwartz, Walker, Minnesota, Kerri (Eric) Nelson, Bemidji, Minnesota, Dan (Sarah) Burdett, Willmar, Minnesota, Chase Christopherson, Alden, Minnesota; six great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Gavin and Cali Tilford, Taylor and Paige Daily, Lily Burdett; sisters-in-law: Roberta Schwartz, Rose Creek, Minnesota, Elaine Harber, Austin, Minnesota, and Muriel Sayles, Austin, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Jeff Daily, Brian Daily, Jennifer Tilford, Mark Schwartz, Kristine Schwartz and Kerri Schwartz.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with Deacon John Kluczny officiating. Visitation will be at the mortuary on Saturday for one hour before the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
