Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Senior Center
Published 2:48 pm Saturday, March 7, 2015
People all over the world celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, especially places with large Irish-American communities.
Feasting on the day features traditional Irish food, including corned beef, corned cabbage, coffee, soda bread and potatoes.
This holiday is celebrated every year on March 17, honoring the Irish patron saint, St. Patrick. The celebrations are largely Irish culture themed and typically consist of wearing green, parades, and drinking.
Whether you’re Irish or Irish-at-heart join us for an afternoon of fun and maybe get the luck of the Irish. Stop by or call us at 507-433-2370 to make your reservations for noon on Tuesday, March 17, for a St. Patrick’s Day feast.
Make sure you tell us if you would like to have the corn beef meal for $8.50 or chicken breast $7.50. Bring your Irish friends and wear your green so you don’t get pinched. There will be a group singing familiar Irish tunes.
Don’t forget the Senior Center in March by going to www.givemn.org. We need you to help with this campaign. All you have to do is go onto givemn.org, click on March millions, then select Mower County Seniors, Inc. This will bring you to the senior center’s page where you can select your donation.
Your donation goes to help us provide the many services and programs we offer at the senior center. Please help us stretch your donations by using givemn.org for the matching grant. Thank you for your support.
We look forward to seeing you at our many programs at the senior center.
Don’t forget our coffee shop, where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and a sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday we are serving enchilada hotdish for only $2.
