Pianos will be facing off with Dueling Pianos
Published 3:47 pm Sunday, March 8, 2015
This is the time of year where everyone tells everyone else to “hang in there.”
The gray days stretch on a little longer than most of us would like, and we could all use something to look forward to. Which is exactly what you can expect from the Paramount this Thursday when Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos are set to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on March 12.
Deuces Wild are not your run-of-the-mill duel. Over 1,500 shows and 13 years into their partnership, Dave Eichholz and Ted Manderfield have set the bar high and become the most sought after dueling piano act in the country with a high-energy mix of comedy and music, and by getting the audience in on the fun. Often described by fans as “unforgettable,” Deuces Wild deliver a wide and family-friendly range of music and genres, from “Sweet Caroline” to “Over the Rainbow.”
One of the more unique things about Dave and Ted is that they’re not limited to piano-playing, or even music; Dave is a versatile and self-taught musician who also plays guitar, saxophone, harmonica, trumpet, and more, while Ted has worked as a game show host and is a self-described “showman’s showman.”
Together, they successfully bring together diverse audiences and carry off a show that is at once intimate and exuberant. Which, I’m sure you’ll agree, is exactly what we need in these last few wintery days.
Deuces Wild hit the stage at 7p.m. on Thursday, March 12.
Tickets are $20. Grab them online at austinareaarts.org or at the ArtWorks Center.
Make a date to have the time of your life, and on a Thursday night no less.
