The Austin girls golf team lost 291-435 at Red Wing Thursday, but the Packers showed a lot of improvement.

Austin had improved its score by 65 strokes from Monday’s opener as freshman Kristina Thorson led the way with a 96.

“Even though we lost, we’re showing signs of improvement. That’s good,” Austin head coach Ryan Wiechmann said. “I still think we can get under 400.”
