The Austin girls golf team lost 369 to 500 in its season opener at Austin Country Club Monday.

Austin sophomore Anna Schara led the Packers with a score of 118 and freshman Kristina Thorson shot a 120.

“It was good to get our first eighteen holes in. For a lot of the girls, this is the first meet of their careers. Our whole team is practically freshmen,” Austin head coach Ryan Wiechmann said. “Anna Schara stepped up. She was pretty nervous because she was put at the number three spot.”
