The Hayfield baseball team went hitless as it lost 2-1 at Kenyon-Wanamingo (7-5 overall) Thursday.
The Vikings (7-3 overall) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Cam Rutledge walked and scored on a throwing error, but the Hayfield bats were silent the rest of the day.
“We did defend well and Cam didn’t have his best stuff today, but he battled,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said. “We didn’t have very good at bats today and a lot of lazy fly balls were hit off our bats. We have to take better approaches when we head up to the plate.”
Hayfield pitching: Cam Rutledge (W) 6 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 2 ER, 4 K
