Richard D. Becker, 68, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at his home.

Richard Duane was born Oct. 17, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota, to Wallace and Mildred (Booher) Becker. Dick attended Austin High School, and then began his life-long music career. He was united in marriage on June 28, 1969, to Donna Meres in Austin, Minnesota. They resided in Austin where they raised their two daughters. In addition to his music career, Dick worked various jobs in the Austin Area. Dick and Donna later divorced, and in 1989 he moved to Faribault. It was there he met Susan Johnson, and they were married on April 9, 1994. Dick attended Faribault Vo-Tech, where he was enrolled in the Lab Technician program. He worked many years in the Owatonna School District until his retirement. In 2013 Dick returned home to Austin. He enjoyed assembling model cars, fishing, playing guitar, listening to music, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Becker of Faribault; daughters: Shelly (Ted) Janning of Blooming Prairie, Amy (Dan) Rech of Austin; grandchildren: Hallie Janning, Megan Janning, Heather Hultman, Michael Hultman, Maya Rech, Daniel Jack Rech; great-grandchildren: Aaron Janning-Smith and McKenzie Janning-Smith; siblings: David (Donna) Becker of Rushford, Carole (Kenny) Howe of Austin, Linda (Frank) Funaro of Mankato; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Cera Janning; former wife, Donna Becker.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Worlein Funeral Home Austin, Minnesota, with Deacon John Kluczny officiating. The Becker Family will greet friends on Thursday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
