The Blooming Prairie softball team lost its season opener 16-14 to Faribault Bethlehem Academy in BP Thursday.

The Awesome Blossoms (0-1 overall, 0-1 Gopher) had the bases loaded with no outs in the seventh, but they couldn’t plate the tying run.

FBA (1-0 overall, 1-0 Gopher) was able to come up with six extra base hits — including two home runs — in the first four innings to take a 15-7 lead on BP.

The Blossoms were led by Tessa Ivers, who went 2-for-3, Bria Baldwin who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Anika Nowlan, who went 4-for-4.
