Get a little spring cleaning done next month by taking your old electronics to the Mower County Fairgrounds.
The city of Austin and Mower County are partnering for another electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9.
Officials will accept all sorts of electronics, including TVs and monitors, stoves, dryers and washers, kitchen appliances, small electronics, vacuums, printers, speakers, computers, refrigerators and more. The event will not take smoke detectors, hazardous waste including broken glass, equipment with PCBs (capacitors), liquids, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes or mercury containing devices.
It will cost anywhere from $5 to $25 per item.
Area officials have held electronics recycling events for the past four years.
