Track and field: Packer girls win home invite

The Austin girls track and field team took first at a triangular in Larry Gilbertson track and field Tuesday.

The Packers finished with a score of 76.5, which was good enough to edge out second place Mankato West, which had a score of 75.75. Albert Lea took third with a 33.75.

Austin’s Rachel Quandt dropped more than a half a second off her best int he 100-meter hurdles to run it in 16.14 seconds. Quandt took second on Tuesday, but that time qualifies her for the raceberryjam state honor roll.

Austin’s Madison Overby took first in the 1600-meter run and the 800-meter run and Morgan Hose took first in the 3200-meter run. Amber Hansen took first in the shot put.
