Evelyn Ione Lange, 90, of Adams, Minnesota, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Adams Health Care Center.
Evelyn was born on Dec. 23, 1924, in Dedham, Iowa, to Thomas and Opal (Bruce) Anderson. She graduated from Milford Consolidated High School in 1942. Evelyn married Clifford Lange on Dec. 17, 1943, in Nevada, Iowa. They farmed at Ames, Iowa, until 1955 when they moved to a farm near Adams, Minnesota. Some years later, they moved in to Adams where Evelyn worked at Anderson Hardware for five years and then was a cook for 18 years at Southland Schools where she later became the head cook.
Evelyn’s hobbies included sewing, cooking, playing cards, rug making, and quilting. She was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford in 2004; sons: Joe in 1978, and Ted in 2000; three grandsons: Bryce, Tom, and Tim; son-in-law Marvin Jech; sisters: Irma Borts and Marion Sawers; and brothers: Millard Anderson and Merrill Anderson.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Janet Jech, Rochester, Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law: Dano and Kathryn Lange, Rochester, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law Elmer (Johnny) Lange, Hawaii; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday for one hour before the service.
