The Austin softball team went with a couple of young pitchers as it was swept by Rochester Century (8-4 overall) on the road Thursday.

Century won the first game 4-1 and it won the nightcap 8-1.

Freshman Hannah Rasmussen allowed just five hits and zero earned runs in six innings in the first game for the Packers (6-13 overall, 3-9 Big Nine) and freshman Tori Gardner took the loss in the second game.

“We brought up our two freshmen pitchers and let them go today and they both pitched very well for us,” Austin head coach Al Eckmann said.
