Two Austin All Stars teams won titles over the weekend
In the Albert Lea Knights Tourney the 14 year-old Eagles Club Stars had the big bats in scoring 55 runs in their four games.
Hunter Guyette hit four round trippers, Andrew Mueller had two homers and Riley Wempner hit one homer in tourney play.
The Eagles pitchers allowed just six runs in the four games.
“Every player contributed and that is what we are looking for” said Stars coach Tracey Murphy.
With the win, the Eagles won a berth in both the state MSF and MBT Tourneys.
The Corporate Management Group 12 Year old Stars only loss in the tourney was to Albert Lea.
“We had a trouble on defense in that game, but we learned from our mistakes and played great D after that,” said head coach Dan Ransom.
Teghan Hovland, Zach Bollingberg,Jed Nelson and Cole Walter shared mound duties for Austin, while Cal Fox, Jordan Ransom, Brendan Kennedy and Sam Nelson joined those players in leading the hitting.
The CMG Stars also earned state MBT and MSF berths by the win.
The 13 Year Old Austin All Stars went 2-2, taking fourth.
“We played very well the first two games but we were forced to play back to back games and that caught up with the boys in the third game of the day” said coach Joe Ciola.
