Austin Eagles 14 year olds win Omaha tourney

The 14AAA Austin All Star baseball team took first place in Tier 2 in the Omaha Slumpbuster Tournament recently. The 14AAA Austin All Star baseball team took first place in Tier 2 in the Omaha Slumpbuster Tournament recently. The Austin Eagles Club 14 Year All Stars won the Division 2 Championship in The Omaha, Nebraska Tourney.

The Eagles beat Appleton, Wis. 7-4 in come from behind win to take first place honors.

“What a team effort” said coach Tracey Murphy. “The boys played their best ball of the season with just a few errors and 10 of our 12 players saw mound duty during the tourney.”

The team played two exhibition games out of their division and finished 6-2 in the tourney. Austin had wins overĀ teams from Chicago and Boston in bracket play to get into the title game.

This weekend the team with be in Rochester.

The 14 VFW all stars will host their own tourney this weekend at the Riverland Complex 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Their will no admission charge for the games.

The CMG 12 year old All Stars went 0-3 inĀ East Ridge over the weekend.

The team was faced with a six hour rain delay and lost their final game 4-3 to Chippewa Falls. This weekend the Corporate Management Group will be in Saint Michaels.

Reichel Foods 11 Year All Star group went 2-3 in the Blue Earth Tourney. After winning their first two games over Waseca and Maple River, the Reichel Foods Stars lost to Blue Earth and LeSueur.

The team will be in Albert Lea this weekend.
