Austin Post 91 baseball team opens with win over Owatonna

The Austin Post 91 Legion baseball team opened its season with a 12-2 win over Owatonna on the road Tuesday.

Jake Reinartz picked up the mound win for Post 91 (1-0 overall) as the struck out six in three innings of work.
“Jake Reinartz was effective on the mound and we had great approaches at the plate,” Austin head coach Joe Kroc said. “It was a great way to start the year and we are looking forward to playing at home tomorrow.”
Jordan Hart went 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs for Austin and Nik Gasner went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI.
Post 91 will host Albert Lea 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riverland. Austin will host Rochester John Marshall at Marcusen Park In a doubleheader 4 p.m. Thursday.
