Hagen’s best throw of the day was 38 feet, 11 inches and it was good enough to keep her in the top four. Hagen trailed Savannah Olson, who took third, of International Falls by a quarter of an inch in the final standings and Maddie Lindhart of Zumbrota-Mazeppa won the meet with a distance 41-8.25.

Hagen was competing in her first state meet of her career.

“I was nervous going into it. But once I got here I was a little relaxed,” Hagen said. “I just wanted to have fun. I’m really happy with how I did.”

Hagen will play women’s basketball at Division I University of Northern Iowa next season and she is BP’s all-time leadings scorer. Hagen was glad to finish her BP career at the state track and field meet.

“It makes it special that it’s my last event as a Blossom and I did well in my last event,” Hagen said.
