Glenn William Naatz, 77

Glenn William Naatz, 77, of rural Waltham, Minnesota, died Sunday morning, June 28, 2015, at his farm home.
He was born July 12, 1937, on the family farm in Waltham Township, Mower County, Minnesota, the son of Edmund August and Magdalena Emma (Faber) Naatz. Glenn attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School of Waltham through the eighth grade and graduated from Austin High School in 1955. He was a member of the FFA, where he took Grand Champion Landrace pig at the Minnesota State Fair. He married Elizabeth Schleret on April 30, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the family farm in Waltham Township, where Glenn was a dairy farmer for 60 years until his death. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was baptized on July 29, 1937, and confirmed on May 13, 1951. He served as a trustee, on the finance board, was a choir member and served as head usher. Glenn owned four draft horses and enjoyed watching horse shows, reading farm related magazines, making numerous trips to Fleet Farm and also watching the Andy Griffith Show. He will be remembered for carrying on a conversation with anyone he would meet, his love of farming and being so proud of all of his sons and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Naatz of Waltham; four sons: Donald (Pamela) Naatz of Waltham, Dale Naatz of Waltham, Dean (Jennifer) Naatz of Blooming Prairie, Douglas (Holli) Naatz of Blooming Prairie; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Brooke) Naatz, Matt (Jessica) Naatz, Kristin (Jason) Peck, Kelli (Anders Jacobson) Naatz, Kalyn Naatz, Erin Naatz, Hailey Naatz, Christopher Naatz, Jacob Naatz; four great-grandchildren: Brenna, Jackson and Alyssa Naatz and Axel Peck; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Naatz of Blooming Prairie; brother-in-law, Eugene Schleret of Columbus, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Magdalena Naatz; parents-in-law, Paul and Martha Schleret; brother, Edward Naatz and sister-in-law, Delores Schleret.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Waltham, Minnesota with the Rev. Jesse Krusemark officiating. Interment will follow the service in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
