Holbert

“Where shall we see a better daughter, or a kinder sister, or a truer friend?” — Jane Austen

Kathryn Eileen Holbert, 76, born July 21, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota, died April 21, 2015, in Davis, California.

Kay was much loved and will be sorely missed by her siblings: Terri (Jerry) Cloutier, Mary (George, Jim) Upcraft-Miller, Judith (Ted) Heimer, Jim Holbert, Rich (Linda) Holbert; and her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Kay was an unselfish, loving, generous person. She was understanding, forgiving, honest, warm, stubborn and hilarious. She lived in Minnesota, Montana and California. Her funny tales were often told at family gatherings out on her big porch in the Old North Davis neighborhood. Kay was young at heart and loved music, reading, playing cards and games.

We are forever grateful for the priceless memories of all goofy “Kay Classics.” She was genuine, patient, appreciative and humble.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eileen and “Lefty” Holbert; and her sister Pat Holbert. Kay was an “Other Mother” and best friend to her youngest sister Terri and Terri’s son, Devin Holbert.

Rest in peace, dear, precious, unforgettable Kay.
