Loran “Bud” Waters, 93, of Issaquah, Washington, passed away May 31, 2015, at Briarwood Health Center.

He was born April 7, 1922, in Austin, Minnesota, to Mark and Nora Waters.

Bud was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Following the war he was the publicity and press secretary for the Hormel Girls Caravan from 1946-1952. He continued with Hormel Foods for 40 years, retiring as a district manager. Bud resided in Lakewood, Washington, then Tustin, California, and finally in Bellevue, Washington. Bud was an avid skier, travelled the world, and loved gardening.

Bud is survived by his three children: Jim Waters (Bernie) of Kirkland, Washington, Diane Morrison (Richard) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Mike Waters of Yakima, Washington; sister, MaeEtta Jarvis of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; brother, Darrel Waters of Rochester, Minnesota; three granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Janeth in 1977; and brother Ralph Waters.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Bellevue, Washington. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. with military honors. A reception will be served at Timber Ridge Retirement Community in Issaquah, Washington. Friends may contribute to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
