The Austin boys golf team ended the Section 1AAA tournament without any state qualifiers at Lake City Monday.

The Packers finished eighth out of eight teams with a team score of 690.

Austin was led by Matt Neumann, who had a two-day score of 170. Neumann shot a career-best 83 on Saturday and he had an 87 Monday.

“Our whole problem has been being consistent from hole to hole this year and it just didn’t happen today,” Austin head coach Matt Raso said. “We took a baby step this year and I told the guys I’m excited because I have them all coming back. They have an opportunity to do some real damage next year if they stay out on the course this summer.”

Noah Bawek shot an 84 on Saturday for his best score of the season and he shot an 89 Monday.
