Acclaim Studio of Dance teams recently attended the Legacy National Dance Competition in Wisconsin Dells.

More than 850 team routines, solos, duets, trios and production lines from the Midwest competed. Acclaim dancers performed 22 routines — seven groups, two duets and 13 solos.

Performances are judged by a team of nationally acclaimed dancers and judges. Points are given by each judge for technique, choreography, showmanship, execution, musicality and overall appearance.

Awards are given based on averaged scores and include silver, high silver, gold, elite gold and platinum. Each judge also presents a judge’s choice award.

Platinum Winners

Soloists

•Alex Goetz, 8, received a platinum first place highest score in her division and title National Grand Champion (out of 16 routines) and judges choice award for exquisite lines.

•Hannah West, 10 , received a platinum and eighth overall high score (out of 20 routines).

•Alexis Forsberg, 11, received a platinum and second highest score in her division.

Groups

•Petite Elites, ages 8-10: Lyrical routine platinum third highest points team members ; Skye Anderley, Alex Goetz, Kirsten Koopal, Seanna Kubus, and Hannah West

•Shinning Stars, ages 11-12: Jazz routine received a platinum. Judges choice for timing and precision and 2nd highest points. Teams Members: Hannah Blust, Alina Imthamthirath, Christina Kuiper and Margerat Parks,

•Rising Stars Jazz routine: platinum third highest points. Team members: Alexis Forsberg, Brooklyn Hansen, Clarissa Madden, Tyra Lindholm, Catryna Lindholm-Sullivan and Emelia West.

•Seniors Lyrical received platinum fifth highest points, special invite to showcase showdown only five from their division are invited. Members: Emily Goskeson, Kayla Pearson, Addie Wagner, & Emma Gordon
