A 67-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he crashed into a tree at the 1000 block of 11th Street Northwest Wednesday.

Witnesses told police the man, who drove a white Jeep Cherokee, partially turned on a nearby corner but didn’t turn all the way, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger. The man hit a tree hard enough for the car to bounce back, according to witnesses.

Gold Cross and Austin officers transported the man to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. Krueger had no update on the man’s condition as of Thursday morning.
