“Look at that one!” Hannah Zerke, 7, said as she pointed at a ride across the Mower County Fair’s midway. She was one of many children who enjoyed the midway Wednesday afternoon during Day Care Day.
GoldStar Amusements came back for the second year to provide rides for the Mower County Fair and brought a new petting zoo along.
For Zerke, her favorite ride was the merry-go-round. “I like it because the ponies go up and down,” she said.
Many children enjoyed the petting zoo, which had goats, llamas, alpacas and other animals.
“It was cool,” Kade Lubensky, 14, said.
Cole Pressly, 13, and his friends opted to buy the Passport to Mower Fun, which allows them to go on unlimited rides throughout the week. Pressly and his friends planned to go on a lot of rides, so the passport was the best option for them.
“It’s worth it to go on a lot of rides,” Marcus Folie, 14, said. “The tickets cost a lot.”
Some new rides for this year include the Supershot, Zero Gravity and Pharoah’s Fury.
