Beverly A. Hanson, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home, Austin.
Beverly Ann was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Austin, Minnesota, to Martin and Ida (Lysne) Hanson, and graduated from Austin High School with the class of 1951. Bev worked as a book keeper for Leuthold’s Clothing Store in Austin, then for the Austin YMCA, retiring after many years of service. She had resided at the Cedars in Austin, and for the last 10 months was a resident of St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. Bev had been active in the Business & Professional Women of Austin, and Austin Toastmasters. She was a very strong supporter of the Austin YMCA, and along with her sister, enjoyed many tours provided through the Hormel Historic Home. Bev was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, and most enjoyed the time she spent with her nieces and their families.
Beverly is survived by her sister, Margaret Tubbs of Austin; her nieces: Mary (Greg) Peterson of Hayfield, Ann (Dennis) Stephenson of Austin; great-nieces and -nephews: Michael Krueger, Matthew (Tina) Krueger, Kellie (Mark) Santjer, Adam Stephenson, Caitlin Stephenson, and Erik Stephenson; five great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Pierce Tubbs; nephew, Michael Tubbs.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin with the Rev. Gerry Giese officiating. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
