Someone allegedly stole a woman’s purse, among other items, from an unlocked car in southwest Austin early Thursday morning.

Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said police are investigating the theft, which took place at the 800 block of Fourth Street Southwest between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday.

The victim reported the purse stolen shortly before 2 a.m. The burglar stole other items, including a soccer bag, clothes and shoes, but police recovered those things near the intersection of Sixth Street and Fourth Avenue Southwest.

The purse is brown with a shoulder strap and contained a few dollars in cash along with other miscellaneous items.
