Fishing trips aren’t only for men, and RayAnne Dahl is ready to tell women all about it.
A new novel, “Fishing with RayAnne,” by Ava Finch, also known as Sarah Stonich, tells the story of 34-year-old RayAnne Dahl, a self-confessed late bloomer who lands inadvertently in the host’s seat of the first all-woman fishing talk show on public television. After the original host bails from the show, RayAnne, originally hired as a fishing consultant, has to overcome her camera-shy personality. She finds interesting guests and discovers a world of fishing outside the men-dominated world.
After she settles in, her world upturns and with her family out of reach, she has to decide whether to follow the rules or follow her heart.
Stonich came to Austin in March for the Austin Page Turners event. She was born in Duluth and lived in the Iron Range northwest of Duluth. She moved to the Twin Cities in 1986, where she worked as a columnist, editor and freelance writer. She was reading other books from small presses and was inspired to write her own.
The book will be on sale Nov. 3, 2015.
