Jane Luella Wallis, 73, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at her home.

Jane was born in Austin on Oct. 19, 1941, to Melbourne and Bedelia (Meyer) Nack. She attended grade school in Austin and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1959. After her schooling, she moved to Arizona and became a fitness instructor. She met the father of her children in Cabazon, California, and resided there for 20 years. She was a homemaker who raised her five children in Cabazon. In 1989, Jane moved back to Austin. She worked as an office manager for a real estate company and as a tax manager for an auto dealer, both in Austin. Jane then took a position with Hy-Vee and retired from there in 2010.

Jane was a selfless, devoted mother and caregiver who put her family first. She was able to find the good in all, and often found the silver lining in difficult situations. Many were struck by Jane’s gentle nature and kind heart.

In her later years, Jane enjoyed the game Farmville on Facebook. She was in second place in the world and received phone calls from people in other countries just to speak with Jane about Farmville.

Jane is survived by her children: Dana Wallis of Cabazon, California, Lance (Belinda) Wallis of Austin, Chastity (Jason) Bennicoff of Rogers, Arkansas, Cole Wallis of Fridley; half-brother, Mark Wallis of Palm Springs, California; grandchildren: Tiffany, Eric, Trevor, Julian, Keanan, Adrienne, Jacquelyn, Astasia, Lance, Wyatt, Ava, Liam and Bedelia; siblings: Doug Nack of Freeburg, Minnesota, Sue (Verlyn) Ryks of Rose Creek.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: David, Joel and Joan Nack; step-son Leon Wallis; and grandson Aidan Bennicoff.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service only.
