The Lyle-Pacelli football team lost 20-12 at Houston (1-1 overall) Friday.
Brady Lester scored on a 3-yard quarterback sneak for LP (0-2 overall) with 1:20 left in the game, but the Athletics weren’t able to recover the on-side kick.
Houston scored the first 14 points of the game.
“They battled. They played really good defense,” LP head coach Jeremy Wilson said of his team. “We had a plan and we stuck to it. Our linebackers are still learning their position, but they’re playing on their athletic ability.”
The Athletics (0-2 overall) will play Mabel-Canton in Art Hass Stadium 7 p.m. Friday.
