Ronald Dean Gullickson, 59, of Austin, Minnesota, formerly of Purdy, Missouri, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at his mother’s home in Austin.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1956, on the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, the son of Olaf R. and Donna M. (Lunde) Gullickson.  Ron attended San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, California, before moving to Bloomington, Minnesota, where he worked at a restaurant. He relocated to London, England, where he trained for one year at the Watergate Inn on the Thames River. Upon his return to the U.S., Ron worked at the Quarterdeck Restaurant in Oxnard, California. He returned to Minnesota after a couple of years and suffered a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle accident that prevented him from working. Ron lived in Austin to be near family before moving to Possum Trot, Arkansas, and then to Purdy, Missouri. He recently returned to Austin, where he lived until his death.

Ron is survived by his mother Donna Mae Gullickson of Austin, Minnesota; his father Olaf ‘Bud’ (Vicki) Gullickson of San Antonio, Texas; brothers: Rick (Connie) Gullickson of Lampe, Missouri, and Bryan Lee Gullickson of Austin, Minnesota; sister Denise Lynn Gullickson of San Antonio, Texas; special friend Diane Morgan of Princeton, Wisconsin, and her daughters Jenny and Mary.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his sister Lori Ann Forstad.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
