A 21-year-old Austin man allegedly hit a pizza delivery employee in the neck with a metal baton and stole his money on Friday.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said the employee tried to deliver pizza just before 4 p.m. at the 900 block of Third Avenue Northeast when the suspect walked up to him, hit him, stole his money and ran through backyards.
The employee tried to chase after the man but lost him soon after. The delivery driver refused medical treatment at the scene, according to Krueger.
The suspect was caught early Sunday after police responded to a domestic violence call at the 300 block of Seventh Street Northwest, after witnesses reported a man dragging a woman by the hair through the street. The suspect was arrested along with three other people at a nearby home.
The man is in Mower County jail pending formal charges.
