BLOOMING PRAIRE — Two people were reported injured in a car crash Monday afternoon north of Blooming Prairie.

State Patrol records show that Jessica Mortensen, 39, of Faribault and Brian Lightly, 34, of Blooming Prairie both were driving northbound on Highway 218 when one rear-ended the other. Both were taken from the scene in ambulances operating lights and sirens and reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The state patrol, Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Blooming Praiire Fire Department and Blooming Prairie Ambulance responded to the crash, which bogged down traffic on Highway 218 for at least half an hour. The state patrol report notes that both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no alcohol was detected on either party.
