The Austin volleyball team put up a good effort, but it couldn’t close out any of the three games as it lost to Hayfield (2-1 overall) by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 in Packer Gym Thursday.

Ashley Hawkshead had eight kills and nine blocks for the Packers (0-2 overall) and Abi Collins had six blocks.
“I was very proud,” Austin head coach Cindy Owen said. “They kind of set the bar now for how they were able to play. They were very scrappy and they attacked the ball. Hayfield is a very good team.”
