Lellen ‘Buck’ L. Jones, 76

Lellen “Buck” L. Jones, 76, of Covington, Georgia, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.

Buck was born in Austin, Minnesota, to the late John and Dorothy Jones; he is also preceded in death by his son Wade Jones.

Buck and his wife Carol left Minnesota and moved to Covington 36 years ago, where Buck retired from Hormel Foods after 32 years. He was an avid Braves baseball fan; he loved camping and enjoyed tinkering in his garage.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol A. Jones; his sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Toby Jones of Covington, Jason and Rosemary Jones of Mt. Juliette, Tennessee; daughters and sons-in-law: Jannelle and Robert Spears of Welcome, Minnesota, Wendy and Dan Wohlers of Trimont, Minnesota; his brother Robert O. Jones and wife Nicki of Rockford, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Jones will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor David Armstong-Reiner officiating.
