Three minors could face assault charges after a fight started inside the Austin Public Library on Monday.
Officers responded to a report of an active fight at about 3:15 p.m. at the library, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.
A 34-year-old was allegedly assaulted by three juveniles — a 17-year-old male, a 15-year-old male and a 15-year-old female.
The victim reported he was walking by the Twin Towers when a group of teenagers started harassing him.
He continued to walk and went to the library, and the group followed and harassed him to and inside the building, according to the report.
The man reportedly went to staff at the library to make sure he had witnesses that he did not assault anyone.
He said three of the minors then assaulted him, punching him in the head area. The victim reportedly was bleeding from the head when officers arrived, but refused medical treatment.
The fight started inside the library and proceeded outside, according to the report.
The 17-year-old was cited for assault, the 15-year-old male was cited for fifth-degree assault and fleeing an officer on foot, and the 15-year-old female was cited for fifth-degree assault.
Reports have been sent to the city and county attorney’s offices for review.
