The Austin girls soccer team lost 2-1 at Mankato East (7-5-2 overall, 4-5-1 Big Nine) Thursday.

With the Packers (6-6-1 overall, 3-5-1 Big Nine) trailing 2-0 at the half, Chloe Summerfield moved from keeper to forward and she scored Austin’s lone goal in the second half.

Myia Hoium had 12 saves as she played keeper in the last 40 minutes.

“We started playing a lot better in the second half,” Austin head coach Enrique Camarena-Corzo said. “In the first half we looked tired and we didn’t pass very well.”
