Get ready to put out the flames and see what it’s like to be a firefighter.
The Austin Fire Department will have its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Wednesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fire Station. This is an opportunity to tour, explore and learn about the fire station and see the fire trucks. There will be a fire hose set up to experience what it is like to spray the hose, and fire extinguishers can be used to achieve the knowledge of putting out a small fire. Auto Extrication Demos will be held on the front apron, and people will get the chance to feel what it’s like to be a firefighter and meet Sparky, the fire dog.
