Loren A. Denisen, 86, of Lyle, Minnesota, died at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015.

Loren was born on June 11, 1929, in Lyle Township, Minnesota, to Walter and Guida (Peterson) Denisen. He graduated from Lyle High School in 1947. Loren married Lola Von Lau on Oct. 6, 1951, at First Lutheran Church of Glenville. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. After his military service, Loren managed Burgard Produce. Later he managed the Lyle American Legion and was a rural mail carrier until his retirement. He served on the Lyle Fire Department for 50 years.

Loren enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his grandsons’ sports activities where he was their number one fan. He loved spending time with his family.

He was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle and he was an active lifetime member of the Lyle American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Guida Denisen; father-in-law and mother-in-law Elmer and Lulu Lau; Lola’s infant brother Durnard; and brother-in-law Len and his wife Eileen Lau.

Loren is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lola Denisen, Lyle, Minnesota; children: Paul Denisen, Albert Lea, Minnesota, Dwight (Meridee) Denisen, Rochester, Minnesota, and Lorna Denisen, Rochester, Minnesota; grandsons: Bryan Denisen and Josh Denisen; brother Harold; sister-in-law Doris Denisen; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville, Minnesota. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday morning for one hour before the service.
