Grand Meadow playing for another state title

The Grand Meadow football team has now won 35 straight games after it topped Waubun 35-20 in the Class Nine Man state semifinals in St. Cloud Saturday.
But not too many of their games in that long winning streak were quite like Saturday’s win.
GM had to overcome two turnovers and it trailed twice in the first half before it got things going. With the win, Grand Meadow will play in its fourth straight state title as it will take on Underwood in TCF Bank Stadium 10 a.m. Friday.
The Larks are coming off a highly contested game and GM is hoping that will help them next week.
“I’ve never been in a position where we we’ve been down,” GM defensive lineman Connor King said. “That was the first time we’ve been down all season. It was nice to get that experience, but obviously we don’t like to be down. It was fun playing a game like that.”
