Swimming: Austin relay teams start strong in prelims

A pair of Austin relay teams put up solid performances at the Section 1A preliminaries in Bud Higgins Pool Wednesday.
The 200-yard freestyle team of Emma Kleis, Hannah Burkhart, Katelyn Hillson and Abby Gogolewski took fourth and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Shannan Kelly, Hillson, Kristina Thorson and Gogolewski took sixth.

Goglewski took eighth in the 100-yard freestyle and Austin diver Samantha Sheldon was in seventh place after the preliminary round.
The Packers will host the Section 1A finals in Bud Higgins pool 6 p.m. Friday.
