Youth wrestlers can sign up for new season

It is time for youth wrestlers to sign up.
Register at our office for those wrestlers in pre-K through sixthgrade. Wrestling will begin the week of Nov. 30 on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the Austin High wrestling room. Pre-K through second-grade will meet from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and the cost is $30. Grades third through sixth meet from 7 to 8 p.m. and the cost is $50. If you have a third child wrestling they are free. The participation cost includes a t-shirt and the NYWA membership. Wrestling will not meet on Dec. 23, 30 and Feb. 15.
Volleyball
Austin Area Volleyball Club tryouts continue from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Ellis Middle School for those on the 16U and 18U teams. Paperwork can be picked up at our office and brought to the tryout with the $70 participant fee. If the student does not make a team the fee will be returned following all tryout dates. Flag football
Do you have your team ready for dome football?
We will offer Seven-Man Adult Flag Football starting Dec. 1. Players must be 18 as of June 1, 2015, with a roster limit of 20 players and games will not start before 6:30 p.m. There will be one official provided per game.
The $417 team entry is due by Nov. 23 which breaks down to $42 per person on a 10 player roster or $7 per week.
League will begin on Tuesday, Dec. 1 for six weeks.
Curling
Stop in to Packer Arena on Mondays through Dec. 28 and give curling at try.
You can drop in at 6 p.m. for those 16 years and older, pay $10, learn to throw some stones, gain some strategy of the game and sweep.
Call our office if you have any quetsions. Wear loose fitting clothes in layers so you can move, gloves, warm socks and clean tennis shoes.
Riverside and Packer Arena
Adult Open Hockey is at Riverside Arena from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 11 and 18. The cost is $6 per person, you must be at least in high school, no checking, no alcohol and a helmet is required. Goalies are free and must have full gear.
Check out renting a private hour of ice for $130. If you need skates Packer is the place to go.
Public skate at Packer Arena will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 25; 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 27 and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28. The cost is $4 to skate and $1 to rent skates if you should need them. Family or single memberships are also available to purchase. The family membership for two is $70 with $5 for additional family members a single is $50.
Soccer program
We will be combining our winter youth soccer program with Austin Youth Soccer’s dome soccer skills camps as we feel this will better benefit the participants. Cost for students in U6 to U9 is $30 and U10 to U11,$75. Those groups will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday’s on the following dates: Nov 28, 30; Dec 5,7,12,14,19 and 21. Baseball under the dome
Currently we are accepting registrations for a baseball pitching machine league to be held in the dome at Wescott Field. Participants that are 7 and 8-years-old will meet early evening on Mondays beginning Dec. 7 through Jan. 25. Participants, ages 9 and 10, will meet early evenings on Tuesdays beginning Dec. 8 through Jan. 26. We will offer this league to the 11 and 12-year-olds as well with a tentative night being Tuesdays. Class will not meet Dec. 22 through Jan. 2. The cost is $45 per participant; please sign up in the Park and Recreation office.
Jay C. Hormel Nature Center
James Keelaghan, a Canadian folk singer-songwriter, will host a program in Ruby Rupner Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22. Please RSVP the nature center by Nov. 20 by calling 437-7519 or emailing info@hormelnaturecenter.org.
Austin Bruins
The Bruins next home games will be Nov. 20 and 21 against Bismarck and Nov. 27 and 28 against Minot.
