The Austin senior facilities are looking to give back this year and into the future.
St. Mark’s Living, Good Samaritan Society-Comforcare and Sacred Heart, all located in Austin, competed in a friendly competition in November to collect food donations for the Austin Salvation Army’s food shelf.
A total of 1,081.7 pounds of food was donated to the Austin Salvation Army, and St. Mark’s Living was the official winner, collecting roughly 48 percent of the donated items.
The three senior facilities are planning to turn the drive into an annual event, hoping that more of the public will take advantage of these three convenient locations throughout Austin.
