The Hayfield girls basketball team lost 54-40 to Kasson-Mantorville, which is ranked No. 4 in Class AAA, on the road Friday.

The KoMets (14-2 overall, 8-0 HVL) jumped out to a 17-2 lead, but the Vikings (10-6 overall, 7-3 HVL) pulled to within five early in the second half.
